Ok, so I like the asthetics of the game and how the jumping feels, but something about that not being able to move when double jumping sometimes makes it feel not that good, also, I'd add something like a ghost in slow-motion so that one can see how he is supposed to do that crazy stuff, after a while trying to figure out how to do that jump, button-mashing brought me up.

Nice and simple game though, but it's rather hard if you don't know how to do that stuff, tutorial could be better.

An optional ghost to follow might be fun to program, thanks for the idea.

While I can't say I've played the types of games like "Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy" where one mistake can send you back minutes of playtime, I have had experience with the challenging platformer Celeste so I was slightly prepared coming into this game. As Fupi mentioned, the controls were strange at first and took a while to get used to (One of my main problems came from trying to move in the opposite direction after a wall jump which lead to a dash instead). Trying to reach for the secret conversations was a fun challenge to try and see where I needed to be to access them. Probably some of my favorite moments was the puzzles like the final wall jump back-and-forth with trying to recover my jumps and dashes without plummeting to who knows where, because it required me to master these dash and jump tricks that has messed with me for a long time.

For a first game, this was an excellent game. Would I ever play these types of rage inducing games again? Possibly, but only in rare occurence. Thanks for this venture into this style of games.

Sidenote: one thing I did notice was near the very end of the game, a bit of a soft-lock happened. Seems I was partially stuck in the no movement wall so I couldn't get out of my predicament by moving to the right (Who knows, maybe that should be left in just to mess with people).

Yes! I'm glad those were you favorite parts, since the game was so simple, I figured it gave me leave to ask you to master something. I've uploaded a new version with the softlock fixed.


I love the idea and execution behind this game. The controls, while weird at first, become second nature after playing for a bit. They are simple and allow for difficult and tight platforming challenges that feel more like puzzles. The level design so far has been stellar as well, and the more you play the game you can easily see your improvements and get back to where you were in a matter of seconds. The writing is very sarcastic and also helpful at many times, besides a few typos I found in some texts. I just really like the game and it was great to see how it evolved from the GMTK prototype.
